CNC Machine Operator - 1st Shift
Job Description
We seek a skilled CNC and Machine Operator who will be responsible for producing precision parts and components according to specifications. The role requires a strong understanding of programming, tooling, and quality control processes to ensure the highest standards of production.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assessment of machining requirements for new jobs
- Supervision of all manual and CNC machining performed on site
- Creation of new CNC programs as needed
- Participation in hands-on machining of WHA parts
- Preservation of traceability through all machine shop procedures
- In-process dimensional inspection
- Safety of self and others at all times
Secondary Responsibilities
- Ensures the entire work area and equipment stay clean
- Organizes storage of tooling – applying "visual factory" principles
- Continual improvement of machining (QMS)
- Prevention of part handling damage
- Pursues of continual improvement and risk reduction (QMS)
- Monitoring of new tooling and supplies needs
- Any other task assigned by Management
Job Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Associates Degree or equivalent
Work Experience
- Minimum of 5 years work in a machine shop environment;
- Minimum of 2 years experience in managing others
Required Skills
- In-depth understanding of GD&T
- Excellent CAD/CAM skills
- Ability to interpret, rework, and create 2D and 3D drawings
- In-depth understanding of machining methods, tools, and fixturing
- Proficiency with wire EDM
- Creation of new CNC programs for multiple machines
- Good computer skills with common PC software; ability to learn and implement software security measures as needed
- Familiarity with best practices for metrology of machined parts
- Prior hands-on experience with CMM
- Excellent diagnostic and problem solving ability
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must meet ITAR requirements

Additional Information
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
