CNC Machine Operator - 1st Shift

We seek a skilled CNC and Machine Operator who will be responsible for producing precision parts and components according to specifications. The role requires a strong understanding of programming, tooling, and quality control processes to ensure the highest standards of production.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assessment of machining requirements for new jobs
• Supervision of all manual and CNC machining performed on site
• Creation of new CNC programs as needed
• Participation in hands-on machining of WHA parts
• Preservation of traceability through all machine shop procedures
• In-process dimensional inspection
• Safety of self and others at all times

Secondary Responsibilities

• Ensures the entire work area and equipment stay clean
• Organizes storage of tooling – applying "visual factory" principles
• Continual improvement of machining (QMS)
• Prevention of part handling damage
• Pursues of continual improvement and risk reduction (QMS)
• Monitoring of new tooling and supplies needs
• Any other task assigned by Management

Educational Requirements

• Associates Degree or equivalent

Work Experience

• Minimum of 5 years work in a machine shop environment;
• Minimum of 2 years experience in managing others

Required Skills

• In-depth understanding of GD&T
• Excellent CAD/CAM skills
• Ability to interpret, rework, and create 2D and 3D drawings
• In-depth understanding of machining methods, tools, and fixturing
• Proficiency with wire EDM
• Creation of new CNC programs for multiple machines
• Good computer skills with common PC software; ability to learn and implement software security measures as needed
• Familiarity with best practices for metrology of machined parts
• Prior hands-on experience with CMM
• Excellent diagnostic and problem solving ability
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must meet ITAR requirements
