Job Description
Position Summary
We foster long-lasting relationships by consistently delivering outstanding service, unmatched innovation, and superior PVC covers and jacketing systems for the insulation industry. The shipping department is responsible for receiving materials and shipping finished goods. The overall objective of this position is to operate forklifts as well as check orders and process and check stock for correctness.
Essential Accountabilities
- Increase revenue from process improvements by checking shipping orders, palletize orders for transfer, properly shrink wrapping and weighing orders for shipping, pulling orders from stock if necessary, and filing the appropriate paperwork accurately.
- Foster communication and collaborations across departments to requisition material needed to meet schedule requirements; provide feedback and information to supervisor.
- Support a positive and productive work environment by maintaining a clean and organized work space, preparing paperwork and material for the next day’s work, keeping materials well stocked and ensuring orders are palletized in an orderly and correct manner.
- Develop process efficiencies through efficiently loading/unloading trucks, and accurately staging/shrinking orders to be shipped
- Decrease costs by checking orders for completeness and efficiently loading and unloading trucks
- Foster customer relationships through shipping products in a timely manner
- Other duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications
Education/Certifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Forklift license required
Experience
- 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred

- Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, and maintenance. Tools include: forklift, scissors, utility knives. Perform daily forklift check and cleaning.
- Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
- Technical — In-depth knowledge of forklift operation and processing of shipping orders.
- Verbal & Written Communication Skills – This position requires basic skills (Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.)

Physical Demands/Working Conditions
Physical Requirement: Demanding. Must have ability to lift and carry over 75 lbs. Employee must be able to sit, climb or balance, hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, stand, walk, talk, and reach with hands and arms. Regularly sitting on forklift; frequently climbing on & off forklift. Must be able to lift & engage dock plates on loading docks.
Additional Information
Working Conditions: Duties performed in a manufacturing plant environment: can be high heat, high humidity, and airborne particles.
Overtime: Required as needed.
Hours: Shifts vary and last 8 hours. Overtime as required.
