Essential Accountabilities

  • The mixing department is responsible for preparation of materials used in the extrusion department. The overall objective of this position is to grind plastic for reuse
  • Ensure the integrity of products by incorporating and complying with applicable standards and customer specifications
  • Support process efficiency by keeping regrind up, continuous mixing, and keeping plastic off skids.
  • Foster loyal customer relationships by communicating with customers to ensure product meets customer’s requirements and work diligently to resolve technical issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Other duties and assignments as required.

Education/Certifications

  • High School Diploma/GED

Experience

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience

  • Interpersonal Skills - Self-motivated and able to identify, examine, and resolve issues independently from others. Hold a strong regard for guidelines, procedures and integrity.
  • Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Tools include: grinder and wrenches.
  • Verbal & Written Communication Skills – This position requires basic skills (Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.)
  • Math Skills – This position requires minimal skills (add, subtract, etc.)
  • Active Listening — Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

Additional Information

Physical Requirements:

Demanding. Must have ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Employee must be able to climb or balance, hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, walk, talk, and reach with hands and arms.

Working Conditions: Duties performed in a manufacturing plant environment: can be high heat, high humidity, exposure to electrical shock and mechanical parts, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals with fumes and/or airborne particles.

Overtime: Required as needed.

Hours: 2nd Shift - 2:30pm to 11:00pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
